NFCI was started in September of 2004 in Canada, from Edmonton, Alberta and as a result of what was found as a need to support a system whereby their was control over the education and policy for a better way to address the over growing need by the general public for a home inspector that through proper certification would gain the trust of the very people that depend on the home inspection industry to do a proper inspection, and the governing bodies to monitor the people that perform these inspections. A Certified Inspector has proven his/her ability to perform an inspection that through the proper education and support would provide the end user a means of evaluating the true value and condition of a home or real property. Even though the home inspector does a visual evaluation based on experience from past and further education, their still is a need for confidence that is looked for by the end user of an inspection, the homeowner.
We hope to provide the confidence necessary to the home inspector as well as the home or property owner through the continuing education that can be achieved by becoming a Certified Inspector with NFCI. Our goal is to improve on and within the home inspection industry a standard of practice that we can all depend on and be proud of, as Certified Inspectors that are professionals in their field.
